Tillamook, Oregon, has many things to offer and a lot of those things are cheese. The Blue Heron French Cheese Company is a very busy and delicious destination for tourists and locals alike. Are you into mustard? Oh boy, they have totally got you covered. No, really. Mustards, Jams & Jellies, Snacks and Crackers, and Goodies everywhere. That and lots of wonderful cheese. If cheese isn’t your thing, you can pet a goat or two. Usually. You can also risk a good gnashing by giving them some feed. You’ll want to do that because they eat only once a year (if you ask them). Apparently, a great number of people visit to check out their over 250 amazing wines as well.
Goats don’t float your boat? Not far north of the Blue Heron French Cheese Company is the Tillamook Creamery. And yes, they make cheese there, you can watch them do it. Eating cheese could (and should) also be part of the experience. One of my favorite things there is squeaky cheese. It squeaks when you bite it. And it’s not technically cheese either, it’s cheese curds. Baby cheese.
Perhaps you feel that everything is a bit too cheese forward, I can see how it leans that way however, the Tillamook Creamery has a cafe with everything from Burgers and Pizza to Mac & Cheese, and even Ice Cream (27 flavors as of Jun 9, 2026). Plus, there’s a gift shop with lots of dairy-related gear, cookbooks, and souvenirs. I mean, come on.
Also, no one paid me to say any of this. The Oregon coast is where I vacationed many times and love it. I still think that one day I may wind things down in that area. It’s beautiful, it’s not over crowded, and there are a lot of really tall trees.
